The Cartography M.Sc. partner universities are proud to announce that Cartography M.Sc. alumni Shayan Nikoohemat from the 1st intake finished his PhD research and defended his dissertation successfully on October 21. Shayan graduated from the University of Twente and was supervised by Prof. George Vosselman. His PhD research about “Indoor 3D Reconstruction of Buildings from Point Clouds” was part of a project which was a collaboration among NWO, industry partners (CGI Nederland, Cyclomedia Technology), academic partners (Technische Universiteit Delft, University of Twente) and The Netherlands’ Fire Brigade as users. The project focused on using indoor 3D models for disaster management in large and complex buildings.
