We were delighted to see that five of our former MSc Cartography students, Lin Che (intake 2020, now at ETH Zürich), Zulfa ‘Afifah (intake 2022, now at University of Augsburg), Yiwei Wang (intake 2022, now at ETH Zürich), Jiaying Xue, and Lydia Youngblood (both from intake 2022 and now at TUM) presented their recent research at LBS2023: 18th Conference on Location Based Services in Ghent Belgium this past week.

Lin won best short paper for his work with Peter Kiefer and Martin Raubal at ETH Zürich: “Towards Personalized Pedestrian Route Recommendation Based on Implicit Visual Preference.”
