The purpose of the map is to beautifully illustrate the topology of Vinson Massif and its surrounding area by utilizing digital painting techniques. The Antarctic Digital Database Map was referenced along with aerial imagery to create this representation in Adobe Photoshop. The topographic rendering depicts typical summer lighting conditions to highlight the impressive topology of this massif, utilizing high-contrast relief shading around exposed rock and subtle, low-contrast blues for glaciated areas.
The map was created within the class Project Map Creation at TU Wien in summer semester 2016.
